About Nirvana Seeds

Nirvana Seeds was founded by a man known as Mau, whose relationship with cannabis goes back to the late 1980s. At the time, he was working at Positronics – a legendary Amsterdam grow shop that was at the centre of the Dutch cannabis scene and one of the most influential forces in early cannabis education and genetics.

It was there that Mau developed both the knowledge and the motivation to do something of his own. He left and spent years travelling – searching for and collecting cannabis seeds from the finest strains he could find, learning new techniques, working in other Amsterdam grow shops and continuing to develop his understanding of what made genetics worth working with. By 1995, he’d accumulated enough to go it alone. Nirvana Seeds opened that year.

The brand has evolved since then – expanding from a pure seeds business into a wider range of hemp products and growing supplies – but the genetics remain the core of it.
